Some reports went so far as to say people should be cautious about taking resveratrol supplements until the safety issues had been resolved.

This needs to be clarified.

The “resveratrol” drug referred to is not resveratrol itself!

Several years ago, Harvard scientists started screening over 500,000 chemicals to find which would be most effective at turning on anti-aging genes.

They were looking for something they could patent and sell to a drug company for big bucks.

What they found was resveratrol, a nutrient found naturally in red wine. It was the most effective compound out of those 500,000 they screened at turning on the anti-aging genes.

It was great news for people using resveratrol supplements, but it was bad news for the scientists, because they couldn’t patent it and, therefore, couldn’t sell it to a drug company.

But all was not lost. There is a time-tested process for dealing with this problem.

It is to make a chemically modified derivative of the natural compound and, if it works, patent the chemical derivative and sell it to a drug company.

That’s what the scientists at Harvard did. They made a chemical derivative of resveratrol called SRT501.

This chemical showed it also turned on the anti-aging genes, patented it and sold it to Sirtris Pharmaceuticals for $500 million.

Then Sirtris turned around and sold it to GlaxoSmithKline for $720 million

The process of making a chemical derivative is frequently used. Many successful drugs have been obtained this way, but the process is also fraught with perils.

Chemically modified derivatives are often not metabolized in the same way as the original and are often toxic in unexpected ways.

It is not surprising SRT501 displayed unexpected toxicity which caused
GlaxoSmithKline to halt clinical trials of the drug.

SRT501 is not resveratrol and the toxicities of this drug have nothing to do with resveratrol.

Resveratrol is a completely natural nutrient found in grapes, red wine and other foods. SRT501 is a man-made chemical derivative of resveratrol.

The amount or resveratrol in most products on the market do not come close to the amounts used in research.

Resveratrol is considered key in protecting the body against heart disease, cancer and neurological diseases, according to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a neuroscience professor at the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine.

According to him, it can prevent some infections, serve as an antiviral, reduce obesity, protect against some forms of diabetes and slow the effects of aging.

Resveratrol companies can refer to the mountains of published research, but what research has been done on THEIR resveratrol product and what are the findings?

Not all resveratrol products are created equally.

Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health.

There are environmental issues that are at the root of some cancers. For example, 90 % of lung cancer deaths are caused by smoking. For other forms of cancer, the causes are not so clear.

Scientists now know, according to Dr. Collins, that cancer is a disease of DNA. Smoking causes mutations of the DNA and when mutations occur, a normal cell grows out of control and spreads.

Not all mutations are caused by environmental issues. Some cells do not replicate the exact DNA when dividing, thus causing what is called a “typo.” If the “typo” continues to be replicated wrong, cancer can develop.

These “typos” can randomly occur or can be inherited. There are numerous ways a cell can go wrong.

Physicians are starting to use the knowledge that cancer is a disease of DNA to look at a person’s DNA and their family history to predict their risk factors. If cancer is caught early enough, it is usually treatable.

There are powerful new drugs being developed. But what if there was a natural substance or a product that would protect and repair DNA, would that be of interest to these scientists? What about you?

In laboratory studies, Vivix Cellular Anti-Aging Tonic ingredients have been shown to impact the four mechanisms of cellular aging.* One of those mechanisms is DNA damage.

Everyday, every cell in the body is being bombarded by DNA-damaging assaults. These assaults can damage the DNA and cause a “typo.” Vivix ingredients help protect and repair cellular DNA.*

Shaklee Independent Distributor

*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

I met Donna 37 years ago when we were both introduced to Shaklee through a mutual friend. We became very good friends through the years. She became a Shaklee Business Leader and enjoyed what Shaklee offered. When her then son-in-law started a business, she began helping him and her Shaklee business suffered, until she finally gave it up.

When Shaklee introduced Vivix just over a year ago, I encouraged Donna to give it a try. I told her all the things it would do. She would laugh and tell me, “Yeah, that’s what everyone says.” This is her story:

I was living a stress filled life 12 years ago and didn’t realize I was falling apart. I wasn’t using my Shaklee Supplements and taking care of myself.

Five years ago this October 2009, I had a heart attack after learning of the death of my granddaughter. I was told by my doctor if I hadn’t been fairly healthy, I would not have survived.

Not long after the heart attack, I had a hysterectomy. When my friend Grace called to tell me about Vivix, I was very skeptical. Finally after several months of her telling me how good it was and it was anti-aging, that got my attention. I finally agreed to try it in Feb. of 2009. I decided I would give it 3 months. I also decided to do the whole Rx for a Healthier Life program, which is Vivix, Vitalizer, NutriFeron and Cinch shakes.

I started noticing a difference within a couple of weeks. Before Rx for a Healthier Life, these are the problems I was experiencing: I had bursitis in my hip, restless leg syndrome, dry eyes, dry skin, blood in my urine, constipation, nose bleeds and no energy. I was depressed, sad, non-thinking and weak. I wouldn’t hear what was being said around me. I had brown spots on my face.

Since starting on the Rx for a Healthier Life, these symptoms are gone. The spots on my face are fading and are really light. I have more strength and the weakness is gone. I have more confidence and more energy. I don’t hurt getting up and down, even after working an 8 hour shift at Walmart. My psychologist noticed drastic improvement in my mental health. I was on drugs for depression, heart health and pain. I don’t use them or need them anymore.

Instead of trying it for 3 months, I have become a lifer. I will not give up my Shaklee Supplements again. Just as we feed our body everyday, we need supplements everyday. One meal a week will not suffice. Neither will eating the supplements once in a while suffice. Nutrients are used up continually. I am so thankful I made the decision to use Shaklee again.

Donna G.….Tucson, AZ.

I too, am thankful Donna started using the products again. I think she would pay any price to be healthy. She is a dear friend. Helping her is a joy.

Shaklee’s 50 million dollar product…

Just one year ago, Shaklee introduced the most potent anti-aging product on the market. Why is it so superior? Why is it now Shaklee’s #1 product?

Click HERE to learn about Vivix, the most potent anti-aging product on the market.

New Shaklee study… vitamin D’s impact on HDL

May 1, 2009, at the National Lipid Association’s Annual Scientific Sessions in Miami, FL, Shaklee presented ground-breaking research that pinpointed the important role of vitamin D in maintaining cardio-vascular health.

Since the meeting, the study results have generated a huge amount of interest within the scientific community! Why? See the Making A Difference link below to read about it.

Natural Killer cells just love… NutriFeron!

Do you have aggressive Natural Killer (NK) cells? If you catch colds or the flu more often than you should, maybe your NK cells could use a jump-start.

Recently Shaklee joined with Dr. Ann Moscona of Cornell, one of the nation’s leading virologists, to conduct research using an entirely new technique for studying the activity of viruses. Here are the exciting results…

Genetic regulator Nrf2, pronounced Nerf 2, is a key genetic regulator of longevity.

Results of a randomized, placebo controlled clinical study by scientists at State University of New York at Buffalo using Shaklee’s Vivix will soon be published.

This was an independent study. Shaklee did not do it.

When we are young and eat a high fat, high carbohydrate, low protein meal, it triggers an increase in Nrf2. This in turn increases production of our body’s own antioxidant defense mechanisms.

What does Nrf2 do?

Besides increasing the production of antioxidant defense mechanisms, it triggers our detoxification mechanisms and gets rid of all the artificial food additives and preservatives.

It triggers our immune balance mechanisms and anti-stress mechanisms. High fat meals depress the immune system and can cause inflammatory and autoimmune responses.

These mechanisms slow down cellular aging and reduce the risk of degenerative diseases.

As we get older, Nrf2 responses are no longer triggered by all the high fat bad foods we eat and we lose our natural protective mechanisms.

When that happens, we are more at risk for heart disease and stroke because our arteries are clogged from all those high fat meals.

Enter Shaklee’s Vivix. The clinical study took a group of volunteers who consumed a 910 calorie breakfast at a well known fast food restaurant. Half took Vivix immediately after breakfast and the other group took a placebo.

In those that took the Vivix, the Nrf2 increased dramatically within the first 3 hours after the meal.

The other group who took the placebo had their Nrf2 levels actually decline.

What does this mean? A dose of Vivix containing resveratrol and ellagic acid has beneficial polyphenols that get into the bloodstream and have their intended anti-aging benefits.

Vivix will be even more effective when used with a good diet. Vivix turns on Nrf2 whether you eat a bad diet or not. Keep your system working at tip top shape with Vivix and make better choices in the foods you eat.

Click HERE to learn more about Vivix, a remarkable anti-aging tonic. There is nothing like it anywhere. It is backed by multiple patents and a soon to be published peer-reviewed clinical study. Increasing Nrf2 is only one of the benefits. When published, we will know more of all the benefits of using Vivix.

AGE Proteins are an accumulation of cellular sludge. AGE stands for Advanced Glycation End products. AGE proteins are formed in the cells as a natural metabolic process of taking in nutrients and getting rid of waste products.

The AGE particles are clumps of proteins.

Conditions such as high sugar intake, blood sugar problems and the aging process generate a greater amount of AGE proteins.

As these proteins clump together in the cells, they act like sludge and simply clog up the cells and prevent normal cellular activities.

AGE particles can also get into the bloodstream.

One of the favorite things Americans like to do is Bar-B-Q their meat. When meat is cooked at high temperatures, the AGE particles are formed from the meat protein and when eaten, they go into the bloodstream.

Our kidneys get rid of most of the particles when we are young, but as we get older…30′s to 40′s…or if we have kidney disease, they accumulate in the blood stream.

This then leads to chronic inflammation and all the diseases related to inflammation.

What can you do? Keep your blood sugar levels under control and be sure to have plenty of anti-oxidants in your diet.

Change how you cook your meat. The higher the temperatures and the less water used in cooking, the more these AGE proteins are formed.

Cut out the frying, the grilling or broiling of your meat. The AGE proteins will be lower when you boil, steam or slow cook your meat. Get out the crock pot.

I use and recommend SHAKEE’S VIVIX, the only anti-aging supplement that has been shown to slow AGE protein formation. It is 10 times more effective than resveratrol alone.

The stampede is on. Everyone and their dog is getting a resveratrol product to market.

There are now more than 200 resveratrol products on the market. Since the recent appearance of Dr. David Sinclair on CBS’s 60 Minutes, that number has nearly doubled.

But it is “Buyer Beware.”

Research has shown there is little if any resveratrol in most of these products.

There is plenty of marketing hype going around.

Consumers will be greatly disappointed when the products they use don’t live up to their expectations.

That is really a sad thing, because the anti-aging promise of resveratrol is real.

The amount or resveratrol in these products do not come close to the amounts used in the research.

There is one product that lives up to the research claims of Dr. Sinclair from Harvard.

It comes from the # 1 Natural Nutrition Company in the U.S. This 53 year-old company spent years developing their resveratrol product.

It was the most difficult and most expensive product in their history.

It is patented and years ahead of pharmaceutical companies quests for a drug.

When considering a resveratrol product, do your homework.

Companies can refer to the research, but what research has been done on THEIR resveratrol product and what are the findings?

Remember, not all resveratrol products are created equally.

Scientists are spending billions with a “B” to unlock the secrets to living longer.

Eighteen years ago, the CBS show 60 Minutes examined what was called the French paradox. The French consumed a diet high in fat but also consumed a lot of wine.

They had a markedly lower incident of heart disease than Americans.

Could there be something in the wine that protected them from this deadly disease?

Researchers have found that resveratrol, an ingredient found in red wine, can influence the biological aging processes in positive ways.

Imagine if you will, people living to 150, 175, or even 200 years! Maybe you don’t want to live that long considering the diseases of old age. What if those diseases did not exist?

It is exciting to think about. Perhaps you could see your great grandchildren or your great-great grandchildren graduate from college.

On May 21, 2009, 60 Minutes updated their story on resveratrol. If the promises hold true, according to Morley Safer, it could change healthcare forever.

One COMPANY has spent years developing a product containing resveratrol and was the first to create and isolate a unique profile of polyphenols.

Their resveratrol product is available now. Drug companies are looking at five to ten years before they have a drug that can extend life.

In laboratory studies, this unique formula has been shown to fight cellular aging.

You know that DNA is part of our cells. When there is a “typo” or something wrong with the cell, it duplicates wrong. Then disease or aging starts.

This product repairs and protects cellular DNA.

It also increases mitochondria, what I call little energizing batteries, in the cells that keep the cells energized. Children have bunches of them. We lose them as we get older. When they are gone, the cell dies.

It positively impacts genetic regulators that determine if a cell lives or dies.

This PRODUCT also contains another polyphenol which is protected by a patent-pending extraction process. No one in the world had been able to extract it until now.

This polyphenol slows the accumulation of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE) which slowly clogs up cells.

These AGE products can compromise cell integrity and longevity.

Multiple patens have been filed to protect this exclusive breakthrough product.

Do a Google search on Resveratrol. See what you find.

If you could prevent the diseases of old age, would you? If you could perhaps extend your life another 25 years, would you? Only you can answer that question.

I don’t know how much longer I will extend my life, but I am using this PRODUCT now, everyday. It is 10 x more powerful than resveratrol alone. I love it.

Most people, especially women, care about their skin and want to keep the wrinkles at bay for as long as possible.

I know I do. I don’t want to look as old as I am. As a teenager I had what some called “troubled skin.”

Now I have people tell me how nice my skin is. What a change.

Here are some things you can do to keep your skin vibrant and alive through the years. I’ve included what I use and have found to be very effective.

Exercise is important. It increases blood flow to the skin and helps it regenerate faster.

Having a healthy diet is a must. You know, you are what you eat.

Include foods loaded with anti-oxidants…those free-radical scavengers that help to prevent skin damage.

Try to decrease the amount of sugar in your diet. It has been associated with increased aging.

Water is an important nutrient to keep your body functioning well. Consider adding an anti-oxidant to your water, like green tea.

Remember to get enough good oils in your diet. Eat foods that are fatty but good for you like salmon, flax seed and avocadoes.

For dry skin, use high quality supplements that contain OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS and/or LINOLEIC ACID, an essential omega-6 fatty acid.

Omega-3′s fatty acids are also good for the heart.

People with eczema and rosacea have gotten good results by increasing this nutrient in the diet.

Eating foods rich in anti-oxidants won’t take away wrinkles you may already have, but they will help stave off new ones.

What about having a fruit salad applied to the face, things like kiwi, banana and such?

Some will help, others won’t.

Lemons can help with exfoliation and fine lines. Avocados can add moisture.

Don’t expect some fruits such as berries to do much good topically, as the skin will not absorb the anti-oxidants in them. Better to eat them.

Cucumbers can be anti-inflammatory and reduce puffiness and cool the skin. Tea bags can reduce redness.

Do you feel you need a scrub to exfoliate dead skin? Some people make their own using salt or nuts like walnuts. These are too rough and can damage the skin.

I use a wonderful SCRUB in the shower. It hydrates my skin while gently exfoliating it.

Smoking is a no-no. It will age skin very fast making one look older than their years. It is also the # 1 cause of cancer.

Getting enough zzz’s will give skin the time it needs to regenerate cells.

Using a good skin care product is important. I have chosen an anti-aging product proven to work. It has on my skin. You can learn more about it by clicking HERE.
